HOH CHILDREN'S PROGRAM

As part of our drive to develop HOH into a fully well-rounded Humanist Community Organization for families and people of all ages, we have plans to develop a Children's Education Program.

Purpose
The HOH Children's Program would be designed to give children a fun and educational experience. Such a program should cover the following:

• The basics of rational thinking and the pitfalls of irrationality, in an age-appropriate entertaining format.

• The importance of caring about others and having concern for our fellow person, life, and our environment.

• The importance of ethics and how to think ethically about moral problems.

• How to relate to those of religious faith in a productive manner that engenders mutual respect, and self respect.

• Building a zest for learning and discovery, including appreciation of science, the arts, and wonder in the natural universe.

The program could consist of much more, depending on attendance and interest levels.

Moving In The Right Direction
Right now, as an intermediary step, we have basic baby-sitting available during our Main Monthly Gathering, for those parents who RSVP to let us know it will be needed. This is designed to make it easier for parents and families to get involved with HOH.

What We Need To Make It Happen
Right now, the key thing we need are volunteers who enjoy working with children to develop an age-adaptable program. After that, we'll need your help in getting the word out to secular families!
